To me, a book without ideas is a waste of my time.

But ideas have to be real. They have to be flesh and blood. Otherwise they’re myths, existing in a different dimension. Necessary for society, maybe, or the military, or religion. Dangerous, at times.

But a pale alternative to real ideas.

I was born in Boston and have lived in New England, California, and Texas. Educated as an engineer, I started two technology companies, and have since embarked on a second career in writing, sometimes pursued while driving around the American southwest.
